The two photographers of a national English daily, arrived at the Arthur Road Jail and helped the police in carrying out the identification parade. The statements of the two newspaper lensmen, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amarjeet Singh, his driver and a constable accompanying him, were recorded before a Special Executive Magistrate.
The accused, who were rounded up after midnight on Thursday, were later granted bail on a surety of Rs 10,000 by a metropolitan court. However, as the suspects could not furnish the surety and personal bond, they were sent to jail.
The NRI women were molested by a mob when they were coming out of a five-star hotel in Juhu, a Mumbai suburb, on New Year. The photographers, who were present in the vicinity, had clicked pictures of the molesters.
