Amid reports of a peace formula being ready, the group spearheading the agitation in Jammu region over the Amarnath land row on Saturday night said there is no going back on its core demand for restoration of the land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.

Ahead of the fourth round of planned talks with a governor's panel, the Shri Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti also said any solution should also give the shrine board exclusive control of the land during the yatra. There was no official word of any peace formula to end the crisis.

The Samiti said its stand on the core issue of restoration of land and related issues has been conveyed to the panel during the earlier meetings and claimed there was no response so far.

Samiti's convenor Leela Karan Sharma told newsmen there is no question of reversing its stand communicated to the panel regarding restoration of land to the shrine board during the previous three meetings.

On reports of peace formula doing the rounds, Sharma said, "I do not have any peace formula and  talks are going on between us and the government. So where is the question of such a proposal."

Earlier, Narindra Singh, spokesperson for the Shri Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti, told reporters "The transfer of land to the board should be complete during the yatra. The restoration of the land that was taken away by the government's order should be done."

Reacting to media reports that Samiti has rejected a compromise formula, Singh said, "There was no formula given to us. So the question of rejection does not arise."
