The group spearheading the agitation in Jammu for the re-transfer of land to Amarnath shrine board on Wednesday postponed its public rally in the wake of the situation prevailing due to the killing of three people by militants.
"The rally has been cancelled based on the request of the authorities in view of infiltration of militants and their attacks on outskirts of the city in which some people were killed," Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti leader Naresh Padha said.
The Samiti planned to hold a public rally at Parade Grounds.
Curfew is on
Curfew remained clamped for the fourth straight day in the Kashmir Valley on Wednesday even as no untoward incident was reported from anywhere in the region.
There was no incident of defiance of curfew or protests from any part of the valley today which has been under curfew since Sunday morning, official sources said.
With improvement in situation, curfew was relaxed for two hours in Kupwara and Budgam districts today even as remaining eight districts of the Valley remained under strict restrictions for the fourth day.
