In reply to allegations leveled by one of the parties supporting the United Progressive Alliance against the BJP for 'fuelling communal tensions' in Jammu and Kashmir, in the all-party meet on the issue, the saffron party's representative shot back saying that there is nothing to be apologetic about its support to the Amarnath agitation.

"We are unapologetic about our role in the Amarnath agitation. It is the response of the masses due to the accumulation of their grievances. If parties supporting the UPA can plead for organisation like the Students Islamic Movement of India, why can't we stand with the masses," BJP's representative Arun Jaitley told the meeting headed by Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil.
