The Pakistan government has ordered authorities across the country to maintain "strict vigilance" on visiting Indians.
The federal interior ministry has directed the home departments in all four provinces to keep a strict vigil on Indians in Pakistan with visit visas.
Source privy to the matter told the Daily Times newspaper on condition of anonymity that the ministry sent these instructions to the home departments in a letter.
The letter specifically mentioned that vigil should be maintained in areas along the border. Authorities have been asked to submit reports on Indian nationals staying in the border areas.
The letter also asked authorities to "restraints on visa extensions".
