Security forces on Friday averted a major tragedy by detecting and defusing two RDX fitted improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.
On a tip off, troops detected an IED filled with 18 kg of RDX at Dalimorh on Doda-Bharath road in hilly district around noon today, official sources said.
Another IED filled with 15 kgs of RDX was detected under the bridge at Kulhand about one km ahead of Dalimorh in the same district later, they said.
The troops stopped vehicular traffic in the area and got both these IEDs defused by their experts, they said adding that later vehicular traffic was restored on this road, which is used by civilians.
The searches are on in the area to track down the culprits responsible for the act.
