Ruling Pakistan People's Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari is expected to assign important responsibilities to his daughter Bakhtawar in the PPP women's wing, party sources said on Monday.
Zardari has held consultations with women workers of the PPP in this regard and decided to assign the responsibilities to Bakhtawar, who currently lives in Dubai, the sources told the NNI news agency.
The PPP chief is expected to make an announcement about his daughter's participation in politics. According to analysts, the PPP will be strengthened with Bakhtawar's participation in party affairs.
Following PPP chairperson and former premier Benazir Bhutto's assassination in December last year, her teenaged son Bilawal was named the party's chairperson.
However, he will have no role in party affairs till he completes his education in England.
