Six persons, including five civilians and a special police officer, were injured in a blast in north Kashmir's Sopore town on Sunday.

Police said terrorists tossed a hand grenade at a police party in the town late Sunday evening.

The grenade exploded on the road, injuring six persons, top police sources said, adding that condition of the SPO was serious and thus had been referred by attending doctors to Srinagar for specialised treatment.

The five injured civilians are being treated in Sopore hospital for splinter wounds.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the explosion.
