The United States has ruled out any change in the 123 Agreement to make it acceptable to a section of the political opposition in India, saying New Delhi will have to work through the political process and in the framework of the text agreed upon.
"The last that I heard this really is an issue in the Indian government's court. If they are going to resolve their issues within their own political system, it is going to be up to them to do so based on the agreement that is on the table," State Department spokesperson Sean McCormack said.
He was replying to a query over whether there could be major changes in the Indo-US civil nuclear agreement that could make some in India act on the issue.
