In renewed attacks against Indians in Afghanistan, suspected Taliban kidnapped an Indian road construction worker in Herat province in western Afghanistan, External Affairs Ministry sources said in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The Indian was abducted along with a Nepalese worker on Monday while they were travelling from Herat to capital Kabul.
No militant outfit has claimed responsibility and no arrests have been made so far.
However, Taliban insurgents are suspected to be behind the abduction.
The Indian mission in Kabul is investigating and working with the Afghan authorities to secure their release.
This is the second time that Indians have been targeted in Afghanistan during the past 10 days. On April 12, a suicide attacker blew himself up in front of a road construction team near Zaranj, killing two Indian workers.
