In its ongoing drive against the proscribed Students Islamic Movement of India, the Madhya Pradesh police on Thursday arrested two more activists from this district.

Two more people are being interrogated about their connections with SIMI, said Superintendent of Police Pramod Verma.

The arrested activists, Feroz Mohammed and Azhar Khan, were presented before a local court, which sent them to judicial custody till April 17. The duo admitted that they joined the organisation through SIMI activist Afzal Parvez, who was arrested in Indore recently.

So far, police have arrested about 50 SIMI activists and supporters from various parts of Madhya Pradesh including 22 from Indore, in the past fortnight, he added.
