Banned Students Islamic Movement of India chief Safdar Hussein Nagori on Monday admitted before police officials that a meeting of important leaders of the outfit took place at Ujjain just before the Mumbai train blasts, which claimed a large number of lives.

However, Indore range Inspector General Anil Kumar told reporters that it is too early for the investigating team to establish whether the particular meeting took place to plot the Mumbai train blasts.

Mumbai police Anti Terrorist Squad had also arrested SIMI activist Ehtesham Siddiqui soon after the blasts, who revealed during interrogation that a meeting of the outfit was held in Ujjain just before the Mumbai train blasts.

The IG also said that the probe team is trying to find out who all were present in that meeting with SIMI's top leadership.

He also said that the investigators are also trying to find out whether these SIMI activists have links with Lashkar-e-Tayiba and Al Qaeda type international terrorist outfits.

Besides Madhya Pradesh police, investigators from Haryana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Karnataka are also camping in Ujjain to probe the arrested SIMI leaders.

Police has so far arrested 20 SIMI activists since the major crackdown on the banned outfit on March 27 when its 13 top leaders were arrested by the police from Shyamnagar area of Indore.
