As the crisis deepens in Karnataka regarding the transfer of power, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has rubbished reports of him stepping down on October 3. The chief minister said that as of now there is no question of him stepping down.

Kumaraswamy said that the decision on whether he should step down from the post or not will be the decision of the party and not his own.

The Janata Dal legislature party will meet on Monday to decide on the next course of action.

Gowda-Sinha meet: Meanwhile all eyes are set on the crucial meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party leader Yashwant Sinha and JD-S chief H D Deve Gowda. The meeting is scheduled to be held after 7.30 PM at Gowda's residence in Bangalore.

However a lot of the outcome will depend on the results of the local body polls, the results of which are scheduled to be out by Sunday evening. When reports last came in the Congress was leading while the JD-S was a close second. The BJP was at third place.
