Opposition Congress in Rajasthan has decided to move a no-confidence motion in the assembly against the Bharatiya Janata Party government over 'its failures in the past 46 months of its rule.'
Congress will stall Wednesday's sitting of the House demanding removal of convicted minister Surendra Singh Rathore, who was granted six months imprisonment in violation of safety norms in a marble mines case by a Rajsamand court last week, after holding its legislative party meeting in Jaipur, Opposition leader R N Choudhary told media persons.
At least 12 police firing incidents, resulting in the killing of over 100 people during BJP rule, deteriorating law-and-order situation, hike in royalty on miners, imposition of urban development tax, hike in water bill, and frequent clashes are enough reasons for moving the no-confidence motion against the Vasundhara Raje government, Choudhary said.
The government will also face the ire of the opposition on large-scale corruption in mass transfers, land scams, illegal arms license scandal of Sriganganagar, farmers' woes and unemployment, he said.
Despite the Opposition demand at the business advisory committee meeting, the BJP restricted the monsoon session's sitting till September 21, Choudhary said.
