The central government on Monday said it is ready to convene a special session of the Parliament to discuss the India-United States civil nuclear deal to address the concerns of its Left allies.
Sources in the United Progressive Alliance said the offer for a discussion was made afresh during Monday's UPA-Left committee meeting.
The ruling alliance told the Left parties it is all for discussion on the nuclear deal but it is up to the Left to ensure that the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party did not derail the proceedings in Parliament.
The BJP paralysed most of the monsoon session, demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee.
