Actor Sanjay Dutt got a minor reprieve on Saturday when the TADA court did not hand him a copy of the judgment of his conviction in the arms possession case.

Dutt, who was instructed by the Supreme Court to surrender before the court on the same day he gets the copy, is likely to be given one on October 22. The actor was present in the court in response to the summons issued for him but did not receive his copy as it was not ready yet.

The court handed over copies of the judgment, which runs into 4,340 pages, to 13 convicts. Ten of them have been sentenced to death.

The Supreme Court had granted Dutt bail on August 20 till the time he gets a copy of the judgment.

Dutt, convicted for possessing arms that were part of contraband smuggled in by conspirators of the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, was sentenced to six years rigorous imprisonment by the TADA Court on July 31.

He had to spend a few weeks in Pune's Yerawada jail before being granted interim bail by the apex court.
