Poonam Mahajan-Rao on Monday identified her uncle Pravin Mahajan as the person who had killed her father Pramod Mahajan.

Poonam Mahajan broke down and wept inconsolably after defence advocate Harshad Ponda had finished quizzing her during her deposition before a Mumbai court.

Ponda wanted to know whether five to six persons had picked up her wounded father from the sofa to be carried to the hospital. Poonam answered in the affirmative and immediately broke down.

Thereafter, while pointing towards Pravin Mahajan, who was sitting in the dock, Poonam told the court that he had killed her father and she wanted justice to prevail. It is for this reason that she had come to depose before the court, she said.

At this point, additional sessions Judge S P Davare asked her to calm down. Poonam stopped crying and stepped out of the witness box.

Earlier, Ponda wanted to know about her knowledge of computers to which Poonam said she was not very conversant, and that she could surf the Internet.

She told the defence counsel that it was not true that that the message 'Ab naa hogi yachana, ab naa hogi prathana. ab raan hoga, jivan vijay ke sath ya maran hoga,' which was allegedly sent by Pravin to Pramod on April 15, 2006, was fabricated to implicate him falsely in the case. She further said it is true that the accused had sent a message demanding Rs 1 crore from her father.

Poonam Mahajan told the court that during the deposition of her mother, she used to accompany her to the court but never discussed about the evidences or about the deposition with her mother.
