Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party president Ramapati Ram Tripathi on Sunday demanded the dismissal of the Karunanidhi-led Tamil Nadu government.

"The Union government should dismiss the Tamil Nadu government led by Karunanidhi for his odd conduct on the Ram Sethu issue. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam ministers in the Union cabinet should also be sacked," Tripathi said in Mathura.

He said that the Congress should also specify its stand on the Ram Sethu issue.

"The Mayawati government has disappointed people in the first four months. While the law and order situation has become deplorable, cases are being registered in revengeful environment," Tripathi said.

He also demanded action against ADG Special Task Force, Shailja Kant Mishra for "the character assassination of lady constable recruits."

Mishra recently talked of sexual abuse of women constables before their recruitment during the Mulayam Singh government.

The enquiry related to recruitment of constables has not been fair, the UP BJP state unit chief said.

Attributing the party's defeat in the recent Vidhan Sabha elections to poor organisational set up, he hoped that the BJP would get maximum seats in Lok Sabha elections.

Tripathi was in Mathura to inaugurate an exhibition on Agriculture and Village Development at the Nagla Chandra Bhan village, the birth place of late Deen Dayal

Upadhyaya.
