Ibobi Singh was delivering his speech in a low voice just before inaugurating the fly-over, when he signalled for a glass of water. He shortened his speech and tried to take his seat, but fainted and fell down on the chair in front of the dignitaries present.
He was rushed to a hospital where doctors carried out the necessary tests and released him after the reports were normal and the physicians pronounced him out of danger.
An official release said, 'There was a slight deterioration in the health of the chief minister during the inauguration function. The required tests have been carried out by the doctorrs. All reports are normal. The problem occurred since the chief minister had been running a slight temperature since Thursday and has been irregular in his diet. The chief minister has regretted the inconvenience caused during the function.'
