The Special Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act court in Mumbai has received an intimation from the Supreme Court regarding the bail granted to actor Sanjay Dutt and 16 others, sources said on Wednesday.

"It is just an intimation and not an order copy. Moreover, it is the high court which has got a fax and we have been told about the receipt of a fax intimating about the bail being granted," the sources in Mumbai said.

The apex court had on Tuesday granted bail to Dutt and 16 others found guilty by the TADA court in the 1993 serial blasts case and specifically asked the registrar to e-mail a copy of the order to save time on release of the convicts lodged in different jails of Maharashtra.

"Since we do not have an e-mail we expect someone to get the order copy to us so that Judge P D Kode can issue the release orders," the sources added.

Dutt, sentenced to six years imprisonment under the Arms Act, has been lodged in Pune's Yerawada jail since October 22 and will be released once the TADA court orders for his freedom reaches the jail there.
