The Tehelka sting over the Gujarat riots generated much heat in the Lok Sabha on Thursday with the Rashtriya Janata Dal demanding the registration of a murder case against Chief Minister Narendra Modi and a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the incidents.
Bharatiya Janata Party members protested vociferously as Devendra Prasad Yadav raised the issue during Zero Hour saying the television expose had shown that those holding constitutional posts had masterminded mass killings.
Yadav, who was supported by Ramji Lal Suman of the Samajwadi Party and Basudeb Acharia of the Communist Party of India-Marxist, said 3,000 Muslims were killed in the Gujarat violence.
This infuriated the BJP members leading to an adjournment of the House ahead of the lunch recess by Speaker Somnath Chatterjee.
