Train services between Patna and Kolkata were disrupted for hours after the blast, a railway official said in Patna. Some trains were halted at Lakhisarai station while other trains were halted at various other stations.
According to police sources, teams from the state police and the Railway Protection Force rushed to the site.
Railway officials are supervising the repair work, said railway sources.
"The sabotage was caused to stop the movement of trains during the 48 -hour bandh in Bihar and Jharkhand," police sources said.
Last week, the CPI-Maoist had threatened to fight against the 'fascist' Communist Party of India-Marxist for perpetrating violence and unleashing terror on the people of Nandiram.
The CPI-Maoist stated, "The red flag-bearing government of West Bengal has openly supported capitalists. It has started uprooting farmers and their families to make room for industrialists."
The outfit said that Nandigram was not an isolated case; the situation was the same in Orissa, Jharkhand and other states where Special Economic Zones are being set up at the behest of the Centre. The CPI-Maoist alleges that multi-national corporations are the reason behind mass murders of innocent people.
The CPI-Maoist also appealed to people living around SEZs across the country to join their agitation to oust MNCs.
The group added that self-defence was the only option left to people threatened by state-sponsored displacement in Nandigram.
