With the issuance of the notification, the nomination process for the fourth phase of the seven-phased Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections began on Wednesday.
Polling would be held in 57 Assembly constituencies of 10 districts on April 23 in the fourth phase. The other phases of the elections are scheduled on April 7, 13, 18, 28, May 3 and May 8.
Nomination papers would be accepted till April 4 while scrutiny of the papers would take place on April 5.
Nominations could be withdrawn by April 7.
The Election Commission has directed that not more than five persons, including the candidate, would be allowed in the room of the returning officer or the assistant returning oficer at the time of filing of nomination papers.
The EC has also ordered that only three vehicles would be permitted within 100 metres of the RO or the ARO office.
The expenditure relating to all the vehicles would be included in the candidate's expenditure if more than three vehicles were found inside the 100 metres area.
The districts going to the polls in the fourth phase included Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav's Assembly constituency of Gunnaur in Budaon besides Lucknow, Basti, Sitapur, Lakhimpur-Kheri, Barabanki, Baharaich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Gonda, Sant Kabir Nagar and Siddharthnagar.
