About 1,160 vehicles have been stranded at different points on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, which continues to remain closed for vehicular traffic for the 11th consecutive day on Wednesday.
Most of the vehicles are held up between Ramban and Udhampur on the highway, officials said, adding the movement was partially restored on Monday but was again stopped due to fresh landslide at Panthial, 166 kms from Jammu.
Incessant rains have hampered the restoration work and it was diffcult to say when the highway could become traffic worthy, Border Road Organisation officials said.
The 300-km arterial road, the only surface link between the valley and rest of the country, was closed on March 11 due to damage caused to a portion of the road at Panthial following heavy rains.
