Meghalaya Chief Minister D D Lapang of the newly formed Congress-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government has allocated portfolios to his council of minisers.
Lapang retained cabinet affairs, political, personnel home (police), taxation, revenue, district council affairs and departments not allocated to any minister.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr Don Kupar Roy has been entrusted finance, law, housing border area development, including border trade administrative reforms and communication.
Lapang's other deputy, Dr Mukul Sangma, has been put in charge of planning, programme implementation, power, including non-conventional energy, election, information and public relations reorganisation.
On March 10, J D Rymbai quit as state chief minister at the directive of the central leadership of Congress after a eight-month tenure and veteran leader D D Lapang was sworn in along with eleven ministers in his place.
Lapang returned to the post he had quit in June 2006 following dissidence among party legislators.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi had on March 6 asked Rymbai to step down.
