Pakistan has said it had no understanding with United States to permit the CIA to hunt for Osama Bin Laden and al Qaeda number two Ayman Al Zawahiri in its territory.

"We have no understanding with anyone in this connection, and such reports are speculative," Foreign Office Spokesperson Tasneem Aslam said reacting to a media report that Pakistan had allowed agents of Central Intelligence Agency to operate in its border areas.

"If there was any information about the pair (Laden and Zawahiri), it should be shared with Pakistan's forces, who would take the necessary action. Whenever actionable intelligence had been provided, Pakistani forces had taken appropriate action," the Daily Times quoted her as saying.

Earlier, Geo TV quoted a US TV report as saying that the US is sending more CIA agents to Pakistan and Afghanistan to hunt down Osama Bin Laden and Ayman Al Zawahiri.

The report quoted US authorities as saying that the search for Laden and Zawahiri had not been abandoned, and more CIA agents, equipped with the latest tools and technology, would be sent to the mountainous border areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan to hunt them down.
