The Hurriyat Conference's hardline faction on Monday appealed to the central government to allow the amalgam's ailing chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani to travel abroad for treatment.
"We appeal to the government of India to allow Geelani on humanitarian grounds to travel abroad for treatment," Hurriyat hawk Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai told reporters here.
Geelani should be given travel documents on top priority for going to the West for treatment, he said.
"Keeping in view the health condition of our leader, there is no need to verify his antecedents as he is a well-know person," Sehari said.
