Differences have emerged between two factions of Gujjars with one group led by a Congress leader calling a mahapanchayat on June 24 to discuss the Scheduled Tribe quota issue and another nearly opposing participation in it.

"Everyone knows what role Govind Singh Gujjar played during the agitation and things will become more clear after going through all his press statements with regard to the quota issue," Gurjar Sangharsh Samiti leader Kirori Singh Bhainsla said at a press conference in Jaipur on Tuesday.

The faction led by Govind Gujjar has called a mahapanchayat at Pushkar in Ajmer district on June 24. The move was apparently not discussed by the other faction.

The convenor of the All India Gujjar Sangarsh Samiti Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said that the Samiti would decide whether to participate in the mahapanchayat at its meeting and added that it was not necessary for everyone to attend it.

However, Bidhuri said that the Gujjar Samaj would remain united and if there were any differences, they will be sorted out. He expressed his solidarity with the suspended BJP legislators Prahalad Singh Gunjal and Attar Singh Bhadana.

Bidhuri said that the all India Gujjar Sangarsh Samiti would soon launch a rath yatra for creating public awareness about their demand.
