A Bhopal court on Tuesday issued a production warrant against underworld don Abu Salem in a seven-year-old shootout case.
Special Judge Anurag Shrivastava directed Mumbai-based jail authorities and Mumbai police to produce Salem before him on June 23 in a case related to the killing of two persons allegedly by three shooters of the gangster in jungles of Jhirnia.
One of the victims was Aqbar, a former shooter of Salem who had refrained from executing his command of killing another person, police said adding Aqbar's friend Nafees also sustained bullet injuries and died.
Police had arrested Salem's shooters C B Rai in Uttar Pradesh and Sadiq and Ishiyaq from Delhi.
After being extradited from Portugal with his associate and former Bollywood actress Monica Bedi, Salem is lodged in a jail in Mumbai where a Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act case is being heard against him.
Bedi is lodged in the central jail in Bhopal as a fake passport case trial is on against her, Salem and two others.
