Rajasthan police will file a detailed report on the violent incidents in the wake of the Gujjar stir, in response to the notice issued by the Supreme Court, Director General of Police A S Gill said in Jaipur on Wednesday.

Terming the week-long violence that accompanied the Gujjar protest as a 'national shame,' a bench of Justices Arijit Pasayat and D K Jain had on Tuesday directed the governments of Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi to submit their action taken reports on the incidents.

"I am yet to receive the apex court's notice. As soon as we receive it, a report will be submitted to the honourable court taking every aspect of the violent incidents that rocked the state for six days," Gill said.

The bench had asked the DGPs of Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh besides the Commissioner of Delhi Police to file their affidavits within 10 days as to what actions have been taken and/or are proposed to be taken against the offenders.

"It is a national shame when hordes of people destroy public and private property," the bench observed while taking suo motu cognizance of the incidents on the basis of media reports.

The apex court posted the matter for further hearing on June 18.
