Hit by the Gujjar unrest, the rail and road services to Rajasthan were resumed on Tuesday after a gap of seven days.

Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation and Indian Railways announced resumption of normal services.

Private operaters too are expected to resume their services shortly.

"Today after a week's gap we have now pressed into service the total fleet of around 200 buses to and from Jaipur," Harish Goswami, GM (Operations), RSRTC told PTI.

"There has been no reports of violence since yesterday evening," he added.

Trains too are now running without any diversions and there was no reported cancellation on Tuesday.

"Although, some trains are running a bit late due to backlog, it too would be made up in a day's time," Northern Railway PRO, Rajeev Saxena told PTI.

There is a rush of passengers in railway stations both in Delhi and Rajasthan, he added.

The movement of traffic along the Jaipur-Agra highway and other roads resumed on Tuesday, much to the relief of thousands affected by blockades during the week-long agitation.

People going to and coming from the state had to face a lot of difficulties following cancellation of bus and many train services during the stand-off over the Gujjars demand for inclusion in the ST category that claimed 21 lives.

Vehicular traffic was restored on National Highway 11 after members from the Gurjar and Meena communities removed the road blockades early on Tuesday morning.

Gujjar leaders, including Roop Singh, met family members of those killed in police firing during the clashes.
