8 trains cancelled due to Gujjar violence

In the wake of the continued agitation in Rajasthan over the Gujjars' demand for ST status, the Railways today decided to cancel eight trains passing through the region.

Three have been partially cancelled and three other trains have been diverted as well.

The trains which have been cancelled in the North-Western Railway zone are:

  • Ajmer-New Delhi Shatabdi Express (2016)
  • Jaipur-Gwalior Exp (2987)
  • Jaipur-Sealdah Spl (986).

In North Central Railway, the Gwalior-Jaipur Express (2988) has been cancelled.

The trains that have been cancelled in Northern Railway are:

  • New Delhi-Ajmer Shatabdi Exp (2015)
  • Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Jodhpur/ Bikaner (2463)
  • Bareilly-Bhuj Exp (4311)
  • Dehradun-Okha Exp (9266).

The trains that have been partially cancelled in North-Western Railway are:

  • Jaipur-Jammu Tawi Exp (2413/2414)
  • Jodhpur-Sawai Madhopur Exp (2465/2466)
  • Jaipur-Jabalpur Exp (2181/2182).

Trains that have been diverted in North-Western Railway are:

  • Jaipur-Pune Holiday Special (988)
  • Jodhpur-Banaras Exp (4864)
  • New Delhi-Ahmedabad Raj (2958).

To restore the Delhi-Jaipur link, two additional services have been introduced between Rewari and Jaipur on the Meter Gauge section via Rewari-Narnol-Ringus-Jaipur.
