Heavy rains and flash floods have caused minor damages to the fences along the Indo-Pakistan border in Samba district, BSF officials said on Friday.
"Some patches of the border fence have been washed away in the flash floods along the International Border in Ramgarh belt on Thursday night," a senior BSF official told PTI.
Nearly 500 m of the fence was washed away in Bandtop-Nursury in Basantar belt.
However, there was no casualty or injury. Some of damaged patches have already been repaired while others will be done soon, he said.
Over 180 km of the border is fenced along the IB in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts to stop cross-border infiltration and smuggling of narcotics and weapons into the state from Pakistan.
