Pakistan said on Friday that a proposal for a review of the visa policy would be one of the issues discussed during Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri's visit to New Delhi next month.
"There is an overall visa agreement and there will be a comprehensive review of the visa policy," its High Commissioner to India Shahid Malik told reporters on the sidelines of a book-reading session.
He said a review of the visa agreement would be 'in the best interest of both countries'.
Asked whether this would be discussed during the coming visit of Kasuri, Malik said, "There are different issues being discussed and it is one of them."
Things would be finalised when he visits New Delhi, he said.
He said there had been 'tremendous people-to-people contact recently' and the new visa agreement, whenever signed, would lead to greater interaction between the people of the two countries.
Referring to Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's proposals, he said, "There have been measures proposed by the President which have been received by India. The earlier we resolve these issues, it augurs well for both countries."
