Shivraj Singh Chauhan, chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, has decided to set up a special 'facilitation centre' focussing on non-resident Indians wanting to invest in the state.
He was addressing an interaction session with NRIs from Madhya Pradesh at the fifth Pravasi Bhartiya Divas.
"We will provide whatever assistance is required by them to come to Madhya Pradesh and invest there," Chauhan said.
He invited NRIs to visit the state and use their expertise to help develop it.
Chauhan pointed out that Madhya Pradesh has made major strides in development in various spheres in recent years.
"It has historical monuments of Sanchi and Khajurao. We are holding a special session for the NRIs in Khajurao on January 16 and 17. We feel that the NRIs are our brand ambassadors. In October 2007 we will look forward to seeing NRI visitors when we hold the Destination Madhya Pradesh festival," he said.
Besides Narendra Modi, chief minister of Gujarat, Chauhan is the second Bhartiya Janata Party chief minister to have joined the PBD in Delhi.
