Supreme Court Chief Justice-designate K G Balakrishnan on Tuesday said there should be a thorough probe into the serial killing of children in Nithari village in Noida.
"Police should thoroughly investigate the matter and find who all are involved in this crime and make investigation report, question people, take medical evidence and all that is required. Police should also take statements from witnesses," Balakrishnan, who has been appointed Chief Justice of India, said in an interview to a television channel.
"This case is only at an initial stage, no court can take any action," he said, ruling out any suo motu action by the court.
The complete case needs to be built from the initial stage. Therefore, the court has no role to play at this stage, he added.
