Congress president and United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi said on Sunday that the Samjhauta Express explosions were handiwork of enemies of the country.

"Yeh desh aur samaj ke dushmanon ka kaam hain (it is the work of enemies of the country and the society)," she said at a rally on the eve of Bhupinder Singh Hooda-led regime in Haryana completing two years in office next week.

Condemning the train explosions that killed 68 people, she said her heart goes out in sympathy of those families who had lost their near and dear ones in the tragedy.

Though investigations would bring out the truth but such work could be carried out by those who were enemies of the country and the society, she said at the rally, which was named 'Navyug'.
