Power supply in the Konkan region and Western Maharashtra has been affected following a grid failure on Sunday evening, official sources said.
The 400 KV Padgha-Nagothane line tripped while being charged up at 1635 hours, resulting in a shutdown of power generating units in Chandrapur, Parali, Karadi and Nashik, which resulted in the power failure, sources in the Maharashtra power distribution company said.
Restoration efforts are on and power supply will resume in two-three hours in a phased manner across the affected parts, the sources added.
