The relatives of the passengers who were injured in the Delhi-Attari train blast on Monday blocked the motorcade of the Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil outside the Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi.

The minister was leaving after visiting those injured who have been admitted to the hospital.

The relatives appealed to Patil that they should be allowed to meet their dear ones who were in the burns ward of the hospital after being brought from Panipat.

Hospital authorities were not allowing the relatives inside the burns ward, which usually has very restricted entry owing to the highly infectious nature of burn injuries.

There was tight security outside the burns ward, with 50 BSF personnel being deployed besides Delhi Police.

Patil said the best medical treatment will be provided to all victims of the blasts.

Eleven of the injured passengers, including five Pakistanis, have been admitted in the hospital. They have sustained 10-45 per cent burns.

"We will provide the best medical treatment to all the victims of the blasts. The government will also provide all kinds of help to the relatives of the blast victims," he said.
