Ahead of the budget session of the Parliament, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Lal Kishenchand Advani on Friday sought a discussion with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on national issues.

"Let there be a discussion with Manmohan Singh face-to-face," he said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party leader said the country should be informed of talks on Kashmir with Pakistan. "One doesn't know there could be a move underway for a compromise on Kashmir," he remarked.

He also cited the report of the Administrative Reforms Commission that found corruption to be one of the biggest administrative issues and said his party would also seek a discussion on it in Parliament.

Buoyed by the high turnout in the Punjab Assembly elections, Advani asked for a similar phenomenon in Congress-ruled Uttarakhand where elections are scheduled for February 21.

"They are bound to lose Punjab and Uttarakhand and this phenomena will go to New Delhi," he said.

Before leaving for Uttarakhand as part of his party's election campaign, Advani met a delegation at home in New Delhi, which was heading for Pakistan to visit the Katasraj temple.

Recently, the BJP leader suggested a team of Pakistani archaeologists, who met him in New Delhi, that they should visit the Akshardham temple in the capital to have an idea about how Katasraj temple should be renovated.

Advani, who visited Kashi Vishwanath Temple to mark Shivaratri, also recalled his Somnath-to-Ayodhya yatra calling it an experience with the country's cultural nationalism. "It gave me a sight of the country's cultural unity," he said.
