Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who has been convicted in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blast case, will appear before a special TADA court on Tuesday, when his bail term expires.

The court had, on the last occasion, extended his bail to February 6.

Sanjay was already out on bail when the court convicted him under the Arms Act in the bomb blasts case and thereafter his bail has been extended thrice so far.

The actor was held guilty for possessing an AK-56 rifle illegally, a pistol and ammunition but absolved of charges under TADA.

Dutt has made an application that he be released on bond of assurance of good conduct under Probation of Offenders Act. His lawyer V R Manohar is expected to continue his argument on this issue on Tuesday.

The CBI, the prosecuting agency, has filed a written statement opposing Dutt's plea.

Convicted under the Arms Act of 1959 for possessing an Ak-56 rifle, a nine mm pistol and ammunition, Dutt is facing a sentence between five to ten years imprisonment.
