Parents of the serial killing victims gathered outside Rathore's office in Noida to express their support for him.
They submitted a memorandum to District Magistrate Ajay Chauhan demanding that Rathore should not be transferred and said they were ready to go to Lucknow and meet Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav to stop the transfer.
"Rathore saab has done a lot in the investigation. It was under him that the police discovered the killings," said Pappu Lal, father of a victim.
"He should not be victimised. We are ready to go to Lucknow to tell Mulayam Singh Yadav to stop the transfer," he said.
The parents also threatened to return the compensation money and the plots of land given to them by the state government if Rathore had to go from Noida.
"We will return the compensation money and the land if Rathore's transfer is not stopped," said Durga Prasad, father of another victim.
Rathore was removed from the post of SSP Noida and shifted to Lucknow while Dinesh Yadav, Circle Officer in Nithari, was suspended.
Rathore, against whom a high-level official committee had recorded adverse findings in the Nithari children killings episode and recommended action, has been attached to the DGP's office in Lucknow.
