Former Karnataka chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, who is recovering after an open heart surgery at a hospital in Bangalore, was shifted from the Intnsive Care Unit on Monday, doctors attending on him said.
"Kumaraswamy, who is recovering steadily, was today shifted out of the ICU to a private room," Dr Vivek Jawali, the chief vascular surgeon of Wockhardt Hospital, who headed the team that performed the surgery told PTI.
After Kumaraswamy was shifted out of the ICU, Governor Rameshwar Thakur, his father and former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, accompanied by his wife Chennamma, other family members and friends visited him.
His parents had brought him prasad of the pooja they performed on Sunday night for his well-being, Jawali said.
"Kumaraswamy should be able to go home by the end of the week", he said. The former chief minister underwent a valve replacement on December 20.
