The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has said it will not allow the Centre to go ahead with the Sethusamudram ship canal project as it posed a "challenge" to Indian culture.
"The RSS is not prepared to make any compromise on the Centre's move to implement the project as it would be a clear instance of grave injustice to the majority people of India," RSS leader K S Sudarshan said inaugurating two-day regional meeting of the outfit in Kasargod in Kerala.
The Centre's stand on the Ram Sethu project certainly went against India's culture and faith of millions of Hindus and the RSS would never allow the project realised, he said.
The Hindu oufits are opposing the present alignment of the Sethu project, saying that it will destroy the bridge.
Maintaining that several "divisive" forces were working overtime to Indian culture, the RSS chief warned the people to be vigilant against such elements.
Citizens of the country must join hands to safeguard the integrity and unity of the nation at all costs.
Accusing the US of trying to enforce its agenda in India through economic imperialism, Sudarshan asked people to defeat such designs in the interest of the country.
On the Sachar Committee report aimed at the uplift of minorities, Sudarshan said the government should strive to implement equal rights to all citizens instead of giving facilities only to section of people.
