A mechanism to address the Left parties' concerns over the Indo-US nuclear deal is likely to be set up in less than a week, CPI-M leader Sitaram Yechury has indicated.
"By the end of this month, some results can be expected," he told mediapersons on Monday when asked about the move to set up the proposed committee on the 123 agreement
The remarks came after Prakash Karat and Yechury had a meeting with Congress leaders Pranab Mukherjee, A K Antony and Ahmed Patel.
"We have reiterated the position of the CPI-M central committee, politburo and the Left parties to the government. Discussions between the government and the Left parties have begun," Yechury said.
Discussions, he added, would continue for the next two to three days.
"That is exactly what we are discussing," he said when asked to elaborate on the constitution of the proposed mechanism. He said it could include political leaders and experts.
