Young residents of a Mumbai suburb celebrated Independence Day with a difference by donating blood.
Residents of Vile Parle East organised a blood donation drive to mark India's 60th anniversary of Independence jointly with the Parle Tilak Vidyalaya alumni association and the Rotary D G Goenka Bank.
There was a good response from different age groups. Many were first time donors. In all, 112 bottles of blood were donated.
