A Hizbul Mujahideen militant has been shot dead by security forces in Doda while trying to evade his capture, officials said on Thursday.
The militant, identified as Roshan Din, was killed by a joint team of Army and police when he tried to run away after being cornered at his residence in Ramban on Wednesday night.
An AK-47 rifle along with two magazines and 60 rounds were recovered from the slain militant, who was involved in series of subversive activities, officials said.
Meanwhile, another operation was continuing in Sangaldan area in Udhampur district where three militants are believed to have been trapped in a cordon laid by the forces, they said.
