September 20, 2006 21:11 IST

Two persons were killed, one of them in police firing, and scores of people including security personnel injured as traders' bandh against the Municipal Corporation of Delhi [ Images ] sealing drive turned violent in many parts of the capital on Wednesday.

A seven-year-old boy and a man were killed and nearly 50 policemen, including the area Deputy Commissioner of Police Devesh Shrivastava, were injured in Seelampur locality of Northeast Delhi.

The area resembled a battle zone with irate protestors clashing with police and indulging in heavy stone-pelting throughout the day and security men resorting to firing, bursting teargas shells and baton charging to disperse them.
