The condition of legendary Hindustani classical singer Bhimsen Joshi, who was admitted to a hospital in Pune, improved on Wednesday, according to the doctor attending on him.
84-year-old Joshi, who was hospitalised on Tuesday night due to illness, has been shifted out of Intensive Care Unit, Dr Atul Joshi of Sahyadri Hospital told PTI.
"There has been improvement in Joshi's condition and therefore we have shifted him to a ward today," he added.
The singer is wheelchair-bound and has not been keeping well for the past few months.
Due to illness, the maestro could not participate in the annual Sawai Gandharva Festival in December 2005, organised in Pune by him in memory of his guru.
