The Central Bureau of Investigation, on Friday, opposed film actor Sanjay Dutt's plea to allow him to go to Pune on September 16 and 17 to offer prayers at temples. The CBI stated that the accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case should not be allowed at this juncture as the TADA court has already started delivering the judgement.
The counsel for Dutt, Farhana Shah, told the court that she will not press for the petition and the court allowed the plea to be withdrawn.
Dutt was arrested in connection with the 1993 serial explosions case for possession of AK-47 rifle that had come in the consignment meant for the bomb blasts. The verdict on Dutt, who is accused number 117, is likely to take time.
